Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close great read in wake of 9/11 anniversary

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close great read in wake of 9/11 anniversary

Jonathan Safran Foer’s 2005 novel Extremely loud and Incredibly Close chronicals a young boys journey through New York City and his own grief over his father who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Foer’s writing style is unconvential, and the book is peppered with black and white pictures. Foer develops a surprisingly strong voice through 9-year-old Oskar. The book is both hilarious and heartbreaking, and the unique writing style and structure of the book make it a must read. This book can be purchased in local bookstores or bought online for approximately $18.
