Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the film is based upon young Alex, played by Kathryn Newton, who regularly video chats with her boyfriend, Ben, through her laptop. When the neighborhood boy, Robbie, stays with Alex and her family while his mom is away, Alex begins noticing how strange the little boy is. After terrifying encounters are captured behind Alex during a nighttime video chat, Ben and Alex work to learn more about the demons that clearly reside within her house. Alex fears Robbie may be the source of the haunt and is determined to not let Wyatt fall into his spirit, while she tries to protect herself and her family. Needless to say, the entire family is affected by the demons that inhibit the household and they struggle to each dark night to stay sane. The film is full of surprising scenes that twist the story plot over and over again. Any audience is sure to jump out of their seat at the terrifying scenes captured as the demons haunt the family.
