With senior drum majors Kelli Blashill and Ailleen Sotelo graduating this year the band found out today who would become the next two drum majors to lead alongside Dylan Lee and Blake McCurdy. The two assistant drum majors for the 2014-2015 school year will be Sammi Rabenowitz and Christian Nicholson.

Students auditioned for drum major last Tuesday in front of a panel. The panel consisted of all band directors in CISD. Following the auditions, the panel discussed and decided who would be awarded the positions.

“[Being an assistant drum major] means a lot of hard work and dedication,” junior Christian Nicholson said. “I will always have to be prepared to sacrifice my time for the band, but that is okay with me. I will have to do whatever it takes to help lead the band to success, along with the other drum majors.”
