The Randall High School Productions class will be performing ‘By the Bogs of Cats’ during the spring for their One Act performance. The play takes place in a mysterious town called The Bog of Cats in Ireland. It tells the story of Hester Swane (Kennedy Ansley), who has a troubling past haunted by the abandonment of her mother and now ex lover, Carthage Killbride (Brandon Staley). Determined to hold on the what is hers, Hester does everything she can to keep her house and her seven year old daughter Josie Killbride (Cheyenne Haynes). Betrayed by Carthage who left her and is promised to marry the daughter of Xavier Cassidy (Zach Bailey), Caroline (Kenzi Redwine) solely for the purpose of money. Left only with the town misfits Monica ( Tuisdi McClure) and the half human creature Catwoman (Channing Taylor) Hester has many difficulties and challenging people, including Mrs. Killbride (Krista Merrit), an outrageous and tough woman and the malicious Xavier Cassidy, to deal with as her past is brought up bringing up bad memories and horrible stories. This play has a mystical and chilling air that will keep people on their toes and will definitely be a hit with director Cy Scroggins.
