Sadie Hawkins week is a chance to break tradition of guys asking the girls out, and having the girls ask the guys out on date for a chance. This year Sadie Hawkins week will take place on Sept. 12-16. Students in all grade levels will have an opportunity to take their dates to various activities around town, and to wrap up the week full of events there will be a Sadie Hawkins dance Friday. Starting Monday night, students and their dates will have an opportunity to go to Sonic and enjoy 99 cent drinks as well as buy one get one free wings from 5pm-9pm. Tuesday night’s activities included either going to the Lady Raider volleyball game as they face the Lady Longhorns at 7 pm in the west gym, or enjoying movie night at Hollywood 16 for $5. Wednesday night is take your date to Bahama Bucks followed by Thursday night which is a chance to let your Raider pride shine at the first home football game. Kickoff will be at 7 pm at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium. The Sadie Hawkins dance will be Friday night in the east cafeteria starting at 7 pm, and ending around 11 pm. Student Council has hired a DJ for the night, and refreshments will be provided. The admission cost is $5 per student. Any students that would like to share their Sadie Hawkins proposals can stop by Mrs. Lopez’s room in 207 east, and they’ll have a chance to be featured in a special slideshow that will be shown throughout the dance.
