Silver ball to be held Saturday

Randall high school’s annual Silver ball will take place on Saturday Dec. 3rd from 8:00 p.m., when coronation starts, to 12:00 a.m., when the actual dance ends at the Amarillo Civic Center in the Civic center grand plaza. Silver ball is a chance for students in grades 9th-12th to enjoy a night out with their fellow classmates in a winter formal type of environment. Besides a school dance, silver ball is where the winners of class favorites, senior most’s, juniors who’s who, and senior Raider King and Queen are announced.

The typical dress code for silver ball is semi formal, but you can dress it as up or as down as you’d like to. Some popular dress trends for Winter 2016 are Faux fur jackets and vests, two piece dresses, basic colored slip dresses, midi dresses, silk like dresses, and velvet material dresses. Many guys who attend wear collared shirts, slacks and occasionally bow ties or the traditional tie.

Students are not the only ones from RHS who will be attending Silver ball, many staff members will chaperone the event. Tickets can be purchased in Coach Norman’s room 308 East on Tuesday and Wednesday for $20 or Thursday and Friday from Mrs. Lopez’s room. Tickets will be sold for $25 at the door, but students are encouraged to buy tickets in advance so student council will know how many cookies and punch they will need to provide for this event.

If you would like to vote for class favorites, or Raider King and Queen you can do so at www.voting4school.com. Voting will end Friday at noon.
