Keeping Silver Ball classy, not tacky or trashy

Silver Ball is a long standing tradition for Randall High students. I myself have attended two out of three years. Its an evening of fun and dancing. There’s always excitement in the air during Silver Ball time. Who will ask you, and what will you wear? While the first question is extrememly important because you want to go with someone you like and will have fun with, you may also want to think of the second question as well. What will you wear? For boys it’s easy, whatever matches my date. But for girls, its quite difficult as Amarillo has a very small selection of dress options. I understand it is difficult to find a dress, but ladies, we have a serious problem. Every year, I see a ton of girls dressed in scandalous or tacky dresses. We all want to show a little skin, but excessive cutouts, waist high slits, and belly-button necklines are tacky. I’m not saying cover everything up, but leave a little to the imagination. If you are trying to dance in your itty-bitty, tiny, barely there, mini dress, you are not going to be having fun because you are going to be pulling it up every five seconds. Not only that, but you will probably ruin someone else’s night because you flashed them. Somebody has to say that these events are formal for a reason, keep them classy.
