The United States athletes for the Olympics have already been making history all this week. With 7 gold medals and 1 sliver along side two bronze, the USA is catching up in country standings.

Red Gerard, a 17-year-old snowboarder, was one of the first to receive a gold medal for slopestyle. Despite having a rough morning from the night before. The teen was seen binge watching Netflix the night before his debut. He had overslept and was almost late to the event. To him, it was just another event, saying he didn’t grow up watching the Olympics. Besides that he was the youngest ever to receive a gold medal for snowboarding.

The next day, another teen Chloe Kim who is also a snowboarder won gold as well. This time for the Olympic half-pipe. She was the the first of many things, being the first generation in America was one of them. The bilingual teen, speaking English and Korean was caught tweeting about ice cream right before her turn to be on the half-pipe. She even secured her gold medal in her first run.

In other news, the US team figure skating won bronze and now figure skating shorts are being held for individual medals. Shawn white, came back after a snowboarding break and claimed his third medal for his fourth and possibly final Olympics. In the the single luge, the USA was not expected to win anything. Let alone get even close to fourth place. But, Chris Mazdzer won silver in the men’s singles for luge. For now, the USA will sit at third place with Norway trailing behind.
