Taylor Swift ‘Red’ sells over one million copies in first week

While Taylor Swift is best known for her harsh “Can’t get me down” break up anthems and syrupy love songs, she mixes up her usual country glam style with a modern pop sound in her new album Red, debuting Oct. 22.

Red, Swift’s fourth studio album, sold over 1.208 million copies within the first week of being released, earning the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and making her the only woman to ever have 2 million-selling weeks since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

The new cd consists of 16 new songs, including, the hit ‘We are never ever getting back together’ that earned a top spot on the Billboard Hot 100’s and sold over 623,000 copies in the first week.

Red is available at Target, Amazon, iTunes, Walmart, and most music stores.
