Hey Arnold! receives reboot in its premiere movie

¨Hey Arrrrnnooooldd!¨

Yes, the rumors are true. This Thanksgiving, the story of the beloved football-headed kid will finally continue in its premiere movie, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie. Nickelodeon will bring back all of its characters, yet most–Phoebe, Helga, Arnold, and even Abner to name a few– will be seen sporting new looks, as they are a year older from when fans were left off at. If given the green light, the movie will break off into a new series and the gang will enter the sixth grade.

The Jungle Movie will pick up on its cliffhanger episode in 2004, The Journal, where Arnold finds his father‘s journal and the map of where his parents were headed. The new film is set in San Lorenzo after Arnold’s class wins a field trip there. While, on the trip, Arnold will be on a separate mission to find his parents, whom coincidentally were last seen in San Lorenzo, too.

The official trailer has since been released and continues to air on TeenNick during NickSplat, the TV block from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. that exclusively airs Nickelodeon’s shows from the 90s to 2000s. In preparation for the new film, the network will air fans’ favorite episodes from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Then, beginning Nov. 17, the network will air every Hey Arnold! episode written from 11:00 p.m. to 6 a.m. until the movie premieres.

The Jungle Movie is said to resolve many unanswered questions it left fans after the show’s cliffhanger–Arnold’s full name for starters. In addition, the unresolved romance between Helga and Arnold–although the show’s creator, Craig Bartlett, admitted the two will eventually end up married with children–will hopefully be acknowledged to give fans closure.

Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie is scheduled to release simultaneously on NickToons, TeenNick, and Nickelodeon at 7 p.m. on Nov. 24. So, fans prepare the popcorn!
