Brooklyn Alexander Chancler, Freshman

Freshman Brooklyn Alexander Chancler is on the freshman volleyball team. Brooklyn started playing volleyball when she was just in elementary school. Hearing her talk about the sport you can clearly tell that she loves playing, though it hasn’t always been that way. Brooklyn had played her 7th-grade year at Westover. She loved being on the court but had a hard time trying to fit the sport into her everyday life. Going into 8th grade she decided to abstain from playing volleyball that season. “It just was all too much for me along with everything I had going on in my life. Though I loved volleyball, I think that not playing that season was the best thing I could have done for myself at the time.” After 8th grade, Brooklyn wasn’t planning on playing her freshman year, but after enough convincing from the coaches, she decided to go back this season. “I never realized how much I missed playing until I went back. I had played volleyball for such a long time it felt like it was a part of me, and being on the court made me feel excited for all that is to come.” Brooklyn is planning on continuing to play volleyball for the rest of her high school career and is so thrilled to see what is left to come.
