Lions, tigers, and 27 students armed with cameras.
Journalism 1, Yearbook and Newspaper students boarded a bus Thursday eager to begin their photography field trip. The field trip started at MediPark where they received a lesson in camera settings, lighting and posing from Cliff Lawson, owner of Cliff Lawson Photography in Canyon. After lunch, the group went to the Amarillo Zoo where journalism teacher Amy Neese gave students a list of photography techniques to capture. Some of the techniques students worked on were leading lines, disturbance and macro shots, repetition, reflection, motion blur and freezing action. The trip ended with a walk through of the photography exhibits at The Gallery at Sunset Center and a quick stop at Bahama Bucks for snow cones.
“The best part of the trip was the learning experience,” junior Zack Beaton said. “I learned how to correctly use ISO and shutter speed. It was great having the opportunity to learn. Not everyone gets the chance to learn how to correctly use a camera.”
