The varsity volleyball team huddles together during the Sept. 24 match.

Two games stand between the varsity volleyball team and the state tournament.

The Lady Raiders will face Grapevine tonight at 6 p.m. at Lubbock Coronado for the regional tournament. If they win, they will play the winner of the Amarillo High vs. Bowell game tomorrow at 12 p.m. at Coronado.

“These two games make or break us on whether we go to state or not so it is really important that we push ourselves for these next two days and work really hard to make it there,” junior Delaney Patterson said.

Amarillo High will play Boswell immediately after the Randall game tonight. If both Randall and Amarillo High win tonight, Saturday’s game will mark the third time the two teams have faced each other this season. If the Raiders can win both games this weekend, they will play in the state tournament in Austin next week.

“Being on the team with these ladies and getting to play every game with them means a lot,” Patterson said. “We have worked so hard to get to where we are. We want to keep pushing forward and hopefully win state this year.”
