A Wicked performance
The Musical Wicked is a spectacular event and was one of the best experiences of my life. The music, the acting, and the costumes were all amazing but the sheer talent and work that radiated off the actresses and actors that went into this production were extremely well done and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The way the story was told with the drama, the comedy, and all the emotions made the audience so invested into what was happening.
The Broadway leads were Emma Hunton who played Elphaba the evil green Wicked Witch of the West, a strong willed independent character and Chandra Lee Schwartz as the hilarious, flirty, popular Glinda. Their singing voices were incredible and filled the room with powerful sounds and the way the heart wrenching tale of the Wicked Witch and Glenda the Good became friends brought many to tears.
All the classic songs were performed with flare and feeling, moving the audience to want to sing and dance along. Elphaba’s catchy solo, Defying Gravity was stuck in my head for hours and I didn’t even mind. Songs like Popular and Changed for the Better done by the two lead witches were truly mesmerizing and if anyone got the chance to see this Broadway musical I would definitely recoment for you to take the opportunity and see this amazing production.
