Morrowind returns to the gaming world
Dusty winds and the roar of a volcano fills the air around the fantasy island of “Morrowind”. The newest remake and edition to the video game series “Elderscrolls” has arrived and it’s getting filled to the brim with love from players from the past and now. Elderscrolls has been around since 1994 when RPG games were first making their big break as video games.
The series is about a mythical land called Tamriel where Gods and Heroes rule the land, and people of all shapes, sizes and species live. The countries here include Cyrodiil, High Rock, Skyrim, Morrowind and many more. This video game empire is huge with many wars, battles and apocalypses, both of mortal and Godly measures, but I’m here to talk about one specific place in great Tamriel- Morrowind.
Morrowind, previously released in 2003, won Game of the Year and also introduced most fantasy gamers in the realm of the Elderscrolls series. Morrowind came back again as a DLC in Skyrim back in 2014 but not fully, just as the coast. Morrowind is a vast landscape that came back fully this year as an expansion to Elderscrolls Online, the server where anyone can join and kill monsters and save the day with teams of warriors, assassins, and wizards, or solo if that’s your style.
Morrowind’s island is filled with missions and quests both great and small for any player to choose and conquer, good or evil decisions are for you to decide. The main quest is helping save the City of Vivec, where the ruling God’s power is faltering. The hero’s job is to figure out who is doing this and why, and if they fail their mission, the city and country will explode into chaos.
With almost life-like graphics and smooth controls it’s easy to fall in love with the new and improved Morrowind.
If this game is to your liking, you can play it on the latest consoles for Playstation, Xbox or PC.
