R.I.P. Taylor’s Reputation

Though it didn’t break the internet, superstar Taylor Swift’s new music video certainly broke the world’s definition of her “reputation” as the video was featured on MTV’S Video Music Awards Sunday night.

The song has left many of her “Swifties” wondering how much of their Taylor has changed from her recent radio silence. The singer posting a magazine shoot only two days before the release, with the caption, “There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.”

Swift is seen representing all her past personalities throughout the video, and even taking a swing at other celebrities she’s had a past conflict with, more importantly her feud with Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian. Taylor makes the comment, “Getting receipts, gonna edit this later,” leaving the fans to interpret a video-recording-Taylor bashing Kim Kardashian.

The “new” Taylor is seen towering over her “old” selves and wreaking havoc, repeating the line, “I don’t trust nobody and nobody trusts me,” and also wearing a black shirt with “rep” instead of the classic “R.I.P.” With the Swift of 2017 voicing different views than the Swift of 2014, fans are recovering from a case of whiplash.
