Blink-182, Reunion Tour?

In October, the band Blink-182 announced they were reuniting with their original guitarist and vocalist and going on tour this summer. For fans of Blink, this is a huge surprise and even a win. Five months after the announcement, people are excited to see what this summer has in store for them.

When the reunion tour was announced, it came along with their new single ‘EDGING” and it was a good back-to-formula song for the band. Mark Hoppus. the Bassist for Blink said on his podcast right after the tour was announced, “It was the first time that all three of us were in the same room in like five years. It’s actually better than it used to be. There was no agenda. There were no lingering grudges. It felt very back to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room.”

Hoppus also expressed how much of a “burden” it was to keep the secret for so long. When asked about it on his podcast “After School Radio” he said, “I was at the Dodgers game the other night, and a fan came up, a guy and his wife, probably late 20’s/the early 30s. We take a picture and the guy is like, ‘I love your band, grew up on your band. Dude, is there any way at all?’. And I’m like, ‘Anyway, for what’, and he’s like, ‘Is there any chance of a blink-182 reunion tour with Tom back in the band at all?’ And he had such hope and desperation in his eyes, and I just wanted to put my hand on his shoulder and say, ‘My friend, just wait. Just wait three or four more days. I should have taken his name and put it on Instagram and said, ‘Thank Steve, a great idea.”

But even after all of that, the band is ready to get back out on the road and make the fans go crazy. They had to cancel their South American shows for the health of their drummer Travis Barker, but in just a couple weeks the world will be taken by storm by one of the biggest bands of the 90s and adults everywhere will feel nostalgic and young again as if it were 1999.
