This weekend members of bands from across the region participated in the Region One band concert. In order to participate, the musicians had to audition on various pieces last fall. If the musician qualified, they advanced to Pre-Area, and then to Area auditions in Abilene, TX to Audition for the All-State band. The region qualifiers were split into a Symphonic and Concert band based on the quality of their auditions, then rehearsed most of the day on Friday and again on Saturday until the concert at 7:00 p.m.. The participants had the opportunity to work with well-known clinicians as well as play with the best musicians in the Region.
