Coffee memorial hosted it’s annual blood drive here at the school on February 2nd. The drive lasted from 9:00am to 6:00pm with 128 students signed up to participate. Although 128 students were signed up, only 72 were able to actually donate due to students not reaching the required standards. In order to donate you must be at least 16 with parent permission. You must meet a weight requirement based on height, but the minimum weight is 115 lbs to donate. You must be of good health and If you have traveled out of the country to areas with malaria you are not eligible to donate. Also, if you had gotten a tattoo within the last year by an unlicensed facility you cannot donate and your iron count must be at an acceptable range. If you meet all of these requirements you are eligible to donate. If you missed this years drive at randall and still want to donate there are many other locations in amarillo that you can go to in order to donate.
