There Goes the Sun…
Students witness rare solar eclipse
August 21, students experienced a rare phenomenon in the sky-a total solar eclipse. This was the first total solar eclipse since 1979, and the entire country held it’s breath as a dark shadow slowly slipped over the sun and for a few moments, the world was dark. The eclipse occurred around 11:30 am, so many teachers were able to take their classes outside to witness the eclipse. Students and teachers were able to safely view the solar eclipse through special glasses or hand-made devices.
