Toilet Seat Champions

Tennis team wins Practically Nearly Everything

Students participated in Practically Nearly Everything (PNE) Sept. 11 on the RHS field. Nearly 300 students and teachers took part in this annual spirit week event. The night began at 6 p.m. with an introduction to games along with demonstrations, followed by a moment of silence on the field in remembrance of 9/11.

Kickoff started around 7:00 p.m. For the first round, four teams picked at random competed against each other in a series of games. The three winning teams advanced to the second round.

The evening consisted of three rounds, quarterfinals and semifinals with each eliminating teams. The last two remaining teams competed in the obstacle course to end the night. The night wrapped up around midnight, and the varsity tennis team won bragging rights as they took home the infamous toilet seat trophy gifted by Student Council.

“PNE was really fun and brings out the competitive side of you,” varsity tennis player junior Brooklyn Hall said. “The next day, I didn’t have a voice. My freshman year, we made it to the finals and lost against the blue team. This year, we played against the same color and won, so it felt good to get revenge.”
