Trump Orders Missile Strikes Following Chemical Attack in Syria
On April 7, the Syrian government used chemical weapons on its own citizens, killing 42 people. The attack is the product of the war that has been going on since 2011, with the government winning against the rebels.
Last fall, President Trump launched missiles at an airbase in Syria as a result of another chemical attack on its civilians that killed more than 80 people. The Russian ties to the recent chemical attack set the stage for an even bigger situation, as the people took to the internet to express their views. Among these is President Trump.
Speculation on social media suggests that a response from the US might not make a difference, and Trump’s twitter tirade doesn’t seem to be helping, with Trump tweeting, “Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’” The nuclear situation rages on as the tweet storm continues. President Trump initially decided to let other people take care of the situation but then changed his mind. Trump made his decision April 13 to retaliate against the Syrian government by bombing three different chemical factories.
