Carson Haffner, Junior
Carson Haffner is a Randall baseball player. He has been on varsity since he was a sophomore and is a dominant left-handed pitcher. Haffner has been playing baseball his whole life growing up and developed his love for the game in little league. Haffner throws many pitches on the mound including a fastball, 12-6 curveball, slider and a changeup making it difficult for opposing hitters.
“Pitching is making the batter uncomfortable,” Haffner said. “What makes me successful is being able to throw any pitch in any count, so the only chance the batter has of hitting it is to try and guess what pitch is coming.”
Last year, Haffner and his Randall baseball teammates made a deep run in the playoffs, but fell short to Lubbock Cooper in the third round. This year, with the new change of Randall dropping to 4A, Haffner believes baseball may have a good shot at winning it all.
