The no. 2 state-ranked Lady Raiders volleyball team has a chance to clinch a playoff berth 5 p.m. Friday night with a win over Canyon.
The Lady Raiders currently hold the no. 1 spot in district 3-4A with an 8-0 district record. The Lady Eagles are tied for fourth and also in need of a win to help their playoff efforts. In the first meeting between these two teams Sept. 17, the Lady Raiders swept Canyon in three games (25-17, 26-24, 25-14).
A win in this match would secure the Lady Raiders’ hopes of getting another chance to make a run into the state tournament. Seniors Libby Strickland, Madalyn Pepper, Whitney Hunt and Katie Dudding were all members of the 2009 varsity team that won state.
