The Lady Raiders volleyball team won its 17th consecutive match Tuesday, sweeping district rival Frenship with scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-14.
Despite starting off slow, the Lady Raiders seized the momentum in the final points of game one to seize the victory. The team battled with the Lady Tigers throughout game two, but again came out with a win. In game three, the Lady Raiders made short work of Frenship, using 6-0 and 10-1 runs to earn the sweep.
Seniors Whitney Hunt, Katie Dudding and Libby Strickland all continued their strong play. Hunt’s 38 assists set up Strickland for 15 kills, Dudding for 12 kills and sophomore Sydney Harlan for 10.
The win sends the Lady Raiders to the regional tournament for the sixth consecutive season. The team will face off with the Aledo Ladycats Friday in Abilene with a spot in the regional finals on the line.
