The basketball team is now tied for second place in district 3-4A after becoming the first district opponent in 11 years to beat Palo Duro on its home floor Friday.
The Raiders relied on a barrage on three-pointers from guards Logan Brittain, Bo Dunavin and Ridrell Holman to carry the team to a 72-50 victory. The trio combined to hit 12 shots from beyond the arc as the Raiders coasted to a win. The fast-paced play of the Raiders proved again to be an advantage, as the Dons were unable to keep up throughout the game. Holman led all scorers with 26 points. Dunavin had 15 and Brittain continued his hot play with a 19 point scoring effort.
The last district team to beat the Dons on their court was also a Randall team 11 years ago. This season, however, the Dons have struggled in district, slipping to 4-3 in 3-4A play.
The win advanced the Raiders to 13-9 on the season and 5-2 in district. The team will look to take sole possession of second place Tuesday night at home against rival Canyon.
