The Lady Raiders softball team improved to 7-1 in district 3-4A Tuesday night after a 13-11 victory over Plainview.
The team jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, but struggled in the middle innings, as they fell behind 10-7 heading into the sixth. However, a late inning rally lifted the Lady Raiders as they scored three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings and held on for the 13-11 win.
Alexis Del Toro got the win on the mound after coming in relief in the second inning. Chloe Manning contributed two doubles to the team’s offensive effort while Taylor Huebner’s seventh inning triple tied the game. Huebner later scored the go-ahead run.
The win put the Lady Raiders two games ahead of Plainview for second place in the district 3-4A race.
