Sports Updates
Hey you guys, this is Ireland. Here are your Randall Raider sports updates for the week.
The Randall Raider football team traveled to Plainview last Friday to take on the Bulldogs for the opening game of the season. Weather caused a large problem for the teams, with a severe rain shower and lightning, delaying the game until 9:45 p.m. When the game finally started, the Raiders got off to a rocky start, trailing 14-6 at halftime. But as soon as the boys came back out to the field for the second half, they dominated and won the game 29-14. Logan Nix went 5/9 and threw 2 interceptions. His total yardage was 77 yards. The Raiders had an overall total of 300 rushing yards and 77 passing yards. The top offensive players were Logan Nix, Paul Terry, and Cade Dunavin. The top Defensive players were Kade Sadderwhite, Jayton Bennett, and Holden Persefield. Next they play the Lubbock Cooper Pirates at home on September 4th.
The Lady Raider CC team ran at the Borger Meet this past Saturday. The Varsity and JV both ran in the varsity division. The Varsity Ladies placed 1st and the JV Ladies placed 2nd. Karyss Betzen led the way placing 1st and Briana Hernandez placed 2nd, Kiley Wilson 4th, Rebecca Prichard 5th, Sydney Backus 6th, Jayna Lueders 7th, and Daphne Pate 8th place. Congratulations and good luck at Lubbock on Friday.
