Sports Update

In this week’s sports news, the varsity football team defeated the Palo Duro Dons 46-10 last Thursday. The boys have big upcoming game against Canyon on Friday Nov. 6, at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium. The Raiders will be the home team this year and kickoff will be at 7:00.

The varsity tennis team finished off their season at regionals in Wichita Falls on Saturday. After winning first round 12-3 against Aledo, the team advanced to the semifinals. The Raiders fought their hardest against the defending state champions, Grapevine, but did not pull out the win. The tennis teams’ final record for the fall season was 23-2.

The cross country team will be traveling to state in Round Rock on Friday. The team will compete on Saturday at Old Settlers Park. The girls compete at 10:50 a.m. and the boys will be competing at 11:30 a.m.

The Randall Raiders volleyball team won Tuesday’s away playoff match against Plainview with a score of 3-0. The Lady Raiders took the first set 25-10, the second set 25-8 and the third set 25-13.

Basketball season is just around the corner, and the varsity boys’ basketball team will begin the season on Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. with a scrimmage at Plainview. The girls’ varsity team also starts their season on Nov. 10. The Lady Raiders will take on Lubbock Monterey at 6:00 here at Randall.
