Randall’s freshman football team has been on a roll this season, winning three of their last four games.

The team practices during fifth period and after school for about three hours at a time. They have won three games and lost one.

“The freshman football team started off the season well with two dominating scrimmages against Lubbock High and Plainview,” coach Cory Hamilton said. “This was weeks of practice prior to school starting. The 9th grade Raiders opened the regular season up with a 46-36 win over Andrews, 32-0 win against Borger and a 46-14 win against Wichita Falls. Sadly, the team’s first loss was against Palo Duro with a score of 60-12.”

Hamilton said the team has worked and pushed harder than he expected them to, especially with some of the injuries that occurred during the game against Wichita Falls.

“Overall, the freshman team has worked hard daily trying to improve their skill sets, their toughness and their strengths and conditioning,” Hamilton said. “While at the same time, they have been learning the offense and defense to the best of their ability to prepare themselves and the program in years to come.”

The freshman team will face Dumas this Thursday at 5:30 at Randall.
