Regional Quarterfinal Baseball Recap
The second round of playoffs was set to be played last Thursday and Friday in Seminole against El Paso Bowie Bears. On Thursday the Raiders won big over Bowie 21-2. The Raiders tallied 17 hits and in the fourth inning Randall scored 8 runs, and in the fifth scored 9 runs. Dylan Ray, Payton Bush, Hagen Shedd, and Logan Tice all managed multiple hits for the Raiders. The submarine senior pitcher Logan Tice got the win on the day allowing two hits and two runs over four innings, and behind him was Carson Haffner who threw one inning in relief and got the save.
The Raiders took Game two on Friday as two pitchers, Payton Bush and Duncan Bowles, combined to throw a shutout. Game two on Friday, started off offensively with the Raiders putting up six runs in the third inning. The rally was led by a walk by Mason Gilbert, a single by Kole Dudding, a sac fly by Carson Haffner, and a home run by AJ Lucero. Payton Bush pitched the Raiders to victory. Bush surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out seven. The Raiders took Game two 13-0 and took home another gold glove trophy.
Next round, the regional semi-finals, versus the Hereford Herd is on Thursday at 6 pm and Friday at 11 am at Wilder Park on the campus of WTAMU. The Raiders are 2-0 on the year against Hereford in district, but Hereford is a hungry team coming out to seek revenge. Come show your Raiders support this weekend and pack the stands to help Randall move on to the next round of playoffs.
