Senior Abigail Hurtt is now the 5-A State Champion in Editorial Writing. After placing in the top three at district and regionals earlier this year, Hurtt competed for State on May 4 at the University of Texas in Austin. She was crowned champion later that evening.

For the contest, Hurtt had 45 minutes to take information from a prompt and write an editorial. Hurtt, who has been in Randall’s journalism program for four years, is also the Editor-in-Chief of Randall’s student newspaper, The Silver Streak.
