Life in Quarantine: Mikayla Rodriguez, 11

During COVID-19, I have learned a lot while staying at home and just trying to keep myself busy. The first week, my parents got me a journal to write everything I’ve been doing during quarantine. I really wanted to keep up with it so I could show my kids when I get older and so they could understand what a crazy time we lived through. My second week of quarantine, I decided to buy myself a ukulele and learn how to play. I have already learned so much and each day I learn something new. My parents have also tried to keep us busy during this time and my dad had this really cool idea to put up a big green screen in our living room and us dress up to go on a “virtual vacation.” It was the best experience ever. It’s terrible that this pandemic is happening to our world, but I have tried to stay as positive as I can. It’s also crazy that I’m living through this, but I’m glad later on in life that I will get to share my quarantine story with many people.
