The Randall Rhythm Marching Band completed their 2nd annual March-A-Thon around City View Elementary on Saturday. It was a 5-mile, parade-style march to commemorate the band’s sponsors for the current season. The band played stand tunes and the school’s fight song while marching.
Prior to the march, the band’s Booster Club, parents and students went out into the community and to ask local businesses to sponsor the band to help them perform their 2023 show, “Heart and Soul.”
“The March-A-Thon was such an amazing experience,” drum major Lizzy Page said. “It was so awesome to see how much our community cares about our band program and how supportive they were. We had so many people walking alongside us and lots of donations that will help us so much with this season’s goals!”
“It was a great experience, despite it being really hot and us laughing most of the time because our captain dropped her flag,” color guard member Dixie Terasas said. “I just joined color guard, and this has made me super excited for our future performances with my band-fam.”
The band finished the march with popsicles and watermelon in front of the elementary school.
The band will be holding a fundraiser at Shark Beach Burgers on Monday, Aug. 28. To support them, mention you are there for the band and 10% of your meal will be donated.
