Next week, December 16th-17th, Randall Highs’ Production group will perform their latest show “Seven in One Blow” for a total of around 1000 elementary students.

Randall Highs’ Productions cast has been rehearsing for the children’s show “Seven in One Blow” since Thanksgiving. They plan to do three performance s before the Christmas break. The first two shows will be set Wednesday, December 16th at 9:00am and 6:00pm, and the third Thursday, December 17th at 6:00pm. The actors and actresses said they are ready and excited to do the last show of the semester.

“Rehearsals are really fun,” Said senior Productions actress senior Ashley Hildebrandt. “And we’ve all bonded as a cast. We’ve learned a lot about acting for different age groups and becoming different kinds of characters.”

“Seven in One Blow” is a play about a little kid who kills seven flies in one swing and then feels inspired to take his skill out into a world of adventure. In his travels, the kid encounters many fictional characters who teach an important lesson in friendship and actions towards others. The cast uses this play as an excuse to bring their own form of family friendly humor to the stage.

“Theater is like a family,” Said sophomore Productions actor sophomore Weston Peirce. “So it’s not too difficult to have a family atmosphere while on stage. That’s why rehearsals are a great place to spend time with people we care about as well as learning skills and developing characters for future plays.”

11 Productions members will be the main cast, while the rest will help with the set and hold up signs for the audience. However, each person has an important role in the making of the play.

“Everyone plays an important role,” Said freshman Productions actress freshman Katie Sandifer. “Each of us teaches a valuable lesson for kids today. Whether it’s teaching them how to treat people, or that they should eat more vegetables. We all have a part to play, and every actor and actress here is just as important as the next.”
