PNE to be Oct. 10

PNE, also known as “Practically Nearly Everything”, is the one night that any Randall student can enjoy a night of fun alongside fellow classmates to kick off homecoming week. Many students and staff members that have participated in the past claim PNE to be the most eventful and unifying event that happens throughout the school year. Every year PNE is hosted by the RHS student council, and always takes place on the first day of the week on homecoming week, typically a Monday night.

Students from all grade levels compete in a series of obstacle course like games and challenges against other teams in their section, and eventually as the night goes on, teams are eliminated. In the past a common challenge could be wrapping a roll of toilet paper around the whole team and walking without breaking the paper, or moving a playing card down the line of teammates without using hands. As the night continues, the challenges are said to become more difficult. PNE is intended to be a night of friendly competition, and the winning team receives not only bragging rights for a whole year, but also will receive a toilet seat on behalf of the RHS student council that they will have the opportunity to decorate in any way they please.

Teams can be made by any student, a PNE team consists of six boys, and six girls of your choosing. These students will also have to select a teacher of their choice to be their team sponsor, and the selected teacher has to have agreed to being their sponsor. A team can be made up of people from any grade level, but if you have a team that consists of one specific grade level then you have the opportunity to earn points for your grade level during homecoming week. The deadline to sign up for PNE is Oct. 3, and students can pick up sign up sheets in Coach Norman’s room in room 308 East. There are only six spots available, the cost per person is $12, and payment includes a PNE t-shirt. This year’s PNE will take place on October 10, and students are encouraged to wear clothes suitable for a fall evening as well as their PNE shirts that will be given on the night of the games.
