Broadcast Team Finishes 6th In State
Randall’s broadcast team returned from Austin, Texas Feb. 24 with bragging rights and accolades after their documentary, “3 Minutes,” placed 6th in UIL’s State Film Competition.
“3 Minutes” is a 7 minute documentary that sheds light on the growing number of active shooters targeting schools and what Randall High School is doing do train teachers in the event it happens on campus.
Molly Riesenberg, Evan Reynolds, Luis Vasquez, Bishop Taylor and Jadzia Adams worked on the film.
This year, UIL received more than 800 film entries in the contest. For the contest, students create their own original short film for one of three categories: Documentary, Narrative or Animation.
