Boys Golf Undefeated Going Into District
The boys’ golf team has found their stride in the second semester. They started the year off at the Plainview Invitational where all five of the Randall players finished in the top 10 individually giving the team an outright victory. Weeks later, they competed in the Region 1 4A Preview Tournament in Lubbock where they defeated Andrews by three strokes to win the tournament. Senior Wyatt Provence shot 73-70 in route to a first place individual finish. Provence carried his momentum into Spring Break where he would kick off the weekend winning the Amarillo Relays by seven strokes shooting 69-66. The team shot 289 in the final round, which was the third lowest score in Randall history, to defeat Tascosa by two strokes in a closely fought battle. The following week, the boys took on Legends Golf Course in Kingsland for the 4A State Preview Tournament. They continued their dominant stretch shooting 311-297 to win by 21 strokes on a course none of them had played before. Next up is the district tournament at Ross Rogers, where the team has taken home the gold ball the past two years.
“Winning four tournaments in a row has given us high hopes and confidence for the final stretch of the season,” senior Jacob Montano said.
