Rangers’ infielder Michael Young signed with the Phillies Sunday leaving Texas after his career of 12 season.

“The opportunity for him to play third base in Philadelphia was more than we could promise here,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels told mlb.com.

That’s like telling Josh Hamilton not to swing at a perfect high pitch, Kobe not to take an open three, or Tim Tebow to stop tebowing. It shouldn’t be done.

So yeah, from a logical standpoint, Young made the right decision. During the 2012 season he only played infield a total of 85 times and was a designated hitter 72 times.

Out with the old and in with the new seems to be the club’s new motto, with several rookies and newbies, and experienced players looking for a new place to call home. The Rangers better hit it hard soon, or all of their stars will be gone like Hamilton’s 43^rd homerun.
