Sports cars stolen
It is no new discovery that there are many car thefts throughout the world. Thieves decide that making away with someone else’s property and constantly having to worry about getting caught is better than purchasing a car of their own. While some thieves go for any car they can find, most find cars that are a little more expensive. Here is a list of the top 10 sporty/expensive cars stolen during a three year period in the United States:
Number 10 on the list is the Volkswagen Eos. While it is not the most expensive car on the market, it is still considered a sports car and therefore attracts more thieves. Over three years, this car racked up 23 thefts.
Number nine is the Porsche 911. This car is much more expensive than the Eos, and is a legendary sports car, making it very attractive to a thief. During this time frame there were 24 stolen.
Eighth on the list is the BMW 6 Series. This BMW is very fast, very expensive, and very good looking. This car is a sure shot for a thief looking for a good steal. Over these three years, there were 45 stolen, almost twice as many as the Porsche.
In seventh place is the Nissan 370z. This sleek and speedy car has thieves drooling when they walk buy. There were 47 stolen over three years.
In sixth place is the Chevrolet Corvette. This vehicles large engine and sly looks make it an easy target for a thief. Over this three year time period, there were 69 stolen, the last of the vehicles under the 100 mark.
Fifth place marks the start of the more desirable cars with over 100 thefts, with the Audi A5/S5. This pricey car is eye catching with speed and luxuries. A theft would find this car very attractive. 101 cars were seized by thieves over this three year time period.
Fourth place is the Porsche Panamera. Thieves seem to favor Porsches, considering this is the second one on the list. This car may have four doors, but it still packs a punch on the race track. There were 103 stolen over three years.
Third on the list is the Dodge Challenger. American sports cars were hit the hardest with the top three spots on the list of thefts. The Challenger is a very muscly car with a large engine, so thieves will make is car a top priority. 782 of these were stolen over the three year time period, several hundred more than the fourth place holder.
Our second place holder is the Ford Mustang. This car has a bold look, and bold speed capacity, perfect for any hungry thief. The Mustang saw 980 thefts over the three years.
And the most stolen sports car over these three years is the Chevrolet Camaro. Although the second Chevy on the list, this car has a considerably larger amount of thefts than the Corvette. With many desirable qualities, The Camaro is clearly a prime target for thieves, with a whopping 1,509 thefts over this three year time period.
