Dieters faced with difficult decision
At approximately 7:39 this morning, I fell victim to one of the most common predicaments of my generation. I decided to go on a diet.
It’s a mere premonition of my fat future that helped me to make the choice. Disregarding my reasoning, the real question is something many people in our generation ask themselves. Which diet is the easiest and the most effective?
Upon my inevitable internet research (A.K.A. Google) I found a slideshow of the 14 best diets of this year. I skipped through the last 10 to find number four – the vegan diet. The vegan lifestyle obviously takes a lot of dedication, sometimes including avoiding leather, silk, and wool. But the results show that a vegan can lose up to 10.8 lbs per year.
The second and third best diets, the Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, are only available to people who pay for the food they eat. I, as a high school student, immediately ruled these options out.
The best diet of 2013 is manageable for everyone, the Volumetrics diet. The descriptions I found of the Volumetrics diet could fill an encyclopedia. Dieters focus on eating low-density foods, getting more food for their calories. Drinking gallons upon gallons and more gallons of water also helps. In a nutshell, the best way to follow the Volumetrics diet is to watch what you eat…just like every other nutrition plan on the face of the Earth.
My plan? Dedicate myself to doing better.
