Craig Ferguson to retire from The Late Late Show
Beloved host of the Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson has announced his resignation as the late night host. During the Monday showing, Craig told the audience that he’s stepping down at the end of the year. He made his announcement only a few weeks after David Lettermen gave his intent to retire.
Ferguson has been the host of the show since early 2005, spiking ratings and winning a Peabody Award in 2009. The ratings have slowly been declining, with the new show hosted by Seth Meyers that airs in the same time frame as Ferguson’s show, 12:35 on the weekdays.
“CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are consciously uncoupling,” Ferguson said. “We still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much.”
