Summer to do list
With the school year drawing to a close many students are left with an open schedule for complete boredom. While others might go on an all summer vacation others are stuck here in Amarillo constantly using the infamous, “There’s nothing to do in Amarillo,” excuse when attempting to plan for summer fun. By thinking outside the box and gathering friends, students can insure a good summer.
First on our list, Palo Duro Canyon. This beautiful formation is bustling with tourists, groups, and people looking for a fun time all summer long. Not only is there a lot to do at Palo Duro Canyon but it’s a good way to stay fit and be with your friends.
Paintball! Gather a group of friends and hit the paintball field. It’s fun and you have the opportunity to interact with others and maybe even make some friends.
As most students know a lot of events are held at places such as parks in the summer. A good way to stay in touch and have fun with your friends while helping the community is to volunteer at events. Not only are you helping the community but you’re gaining major brownie points with colleges by volunteering.
Splash! No literally… splash. Keeping cool during the summer proves a little difficult when the Amarillo days soar well over 100 degrees. You could visit a community pool or a private pool at a friends house for a pool party but why not step it up a notch and visit Splash Water Park? A fun way to stay cool during the summer.
Last but certainly not least, but maybe the most obvious are parks. You could gather a team of friends to challenge another team and all you need is a ball or something fun. Another easy way to stay fit and social during the summer.
