Shadow of Mordor takes place after the events in The Hobbit, but before the Fellowship. You play as Talion, a ranger stationed at the black gate. After the return of Sauron, you and your family are killed in cinematic/dramatic fashion. You are then resurrected as a vengeful spirit. You have powers of wraiths and mortal men alike. It offers takedowns and executions that make the animators of Mortal Kombat “Fatalities” shudder. The graphics are next-gen, and the landscapes are beautiful. You’ll find the campaign pretty long for your average story game.
