Well… I got a part
The cast list for The Lost Boy has been posted. Even though my audition did not go as well as I had hoped; I still got casted in a somewhat decent part. I play Peter Pan’s mother, and I am also a fairy. I’m a bit nervous about playing a fairy. It’s going to be a challenge for me because fairies do not move and act the way that humans do. It’s completely different than all other characters I have played. I do not have any lines as the fairy, which means that my character has to be expressed through body language and facial expressions. Because normally my characters don’t require such big movements, I think this part will be good for me. It will force me out of my comfort zone, and allow me to work on some of my weaknesses as a performer.
The play is about the author of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie. It is about the events in his life that inspired the idea for Peter Pan, and his life while writing the story. We have already started rehearsals and in my opinion, I think that overall the cast is great. I am excited; I think that the show will be really good.
My names is Paige James. I am a senior, and I am involved in theatre and Key Club. I joined the newspaper staff because I enjoy writing.
