My Saturday Nights
Weekends are held in high regards to the human race, the only days of the week where people are actually allowed to mentally wine down from the chaotic weekdays. There isn’t the saying of “TGIF” for nothing. Weekends in the perspectives of a high school teenager is heaven on earth. Regarding to that, everyone chooses how they want to spend their heavenly days, whether that may be taking a 3 day nap, hanging at the local coffee shop, or going out to eat. Individuality is key to unlocking that inner stress relief.
Personally, by appearance, I am labeled a metal head/punker, and that is my “individuality”. My Saturdays consist of hanging with the local musicians and their bands. One band in particular that I spend most of my Saturday nights with is a death metal/ nu metal influenced band called “Cidel”. “Cidel” members are lead vocalist Jeffery Neurotic, lead guitarist “Killface”, drummer “Voodoo”, and the bassist, my friend, Trey Green. Each of them are talented individuals and amazing musicians.
Being who I am in music influences my weekends to want to vibe in the auras of music and odd local people within the “City of Yellow”. Music has become my driven stress reliever. Metal composes that, allowing me to mosh out all the anger of my personal life and to head bang myself sore, killing the negativity of having to conform to the “norm” of a high school career.
My weekends give me the chance to let everything go, so I can be refreshed with a new mindset of taking on another dreaded weekday. Everyone has to do it, dealing with it in their own way. My way may be a bit different than most, but it just shows my individuality.
