Keeping Up With School
Randall High’s first semester is coming closer and closer to an end, leaving some students in a downward spiral of never ending stress. Students fear for their final semester grades and dread the looming semester test.
Keeping up with grades is hard enough, but when students have been barley passing for several weeks, it is a lot more draining. Students with failing grades can consult their counselor on what they need to do to fix their failing grades. Along with this, make sure to stay in contact with your teachers. Keeping them up to date and asking for help will always help you to improve your grades.
Figuring out what classes the student is failing should be the first step, while consulting the teacher, asking for extra credit work or makeup assignments will be a tremendous help. Late assignments need to be turned in on time, because eventually a student will get lazy and just give up. Caring is a big part of keeping passing grades. The more the student cares about passing and having determination to pass for the semester is primary key. Remember to turn in all of your assignments on time, don’t procrastinate, and ask for help if you need it. It is never wrong to admit that you need help, and every teacher is here to help you. Even if you don’t ask for help from the teacher who instructs the subject, asking for help should never be a problem, because we all need help at some point.
Along with this, a positive mindset will give a better outlook on future work. Showing teachers that the student is more than willing to work hard for their grade can also help. Homework is a must, and procrastination and limited effort in doing so will cause the student to get behind and lose motivation. As a student, daily or even weekly goals can be set up for keeping up with grades and maintaining the desired average. If the motivation is there, then passing the first semester should be a breeze.
