Music Love

Music is one of the ways people connect on a personal level. It’s not just about the lyrics, but it can also be the melody, the beats, the tone and even the vibes that we get. Music is a step closer to connecting with ourselves in a spiritual way. When multiple people vibe on the same song they are all connected mentally, sharing the same deep personal feelings with one another. Depending on the kind of person someone is, their music is a way of defining who they are on the inside psychologically. My music defines me, I am 17 year old punk/metal head. I pretty much live for metal and 70-80’s punk music.

I have three favorites out of hundreds of genres of metal. The first genre is “thrash metal”, a fast paced beat originating from the 80’s. “Death metal”, the second genre, is a lot heavier tone in both sound and vocals. “Black metal” originates from European country’s such as Norway, a very dark vibe within aspects of satanic rituals. I can connect on a deep level with these types on both sounds and lyrics.

Punk music, however, I am on a much deeper level with. For me, punk isn’t just about the music, it’s a lifestyle. Punk reflects my attitude, political beliefs, and the way I dress. Punk originated from the 80’s in the U.K starting as a movement, the way of being for individuality, condemning the normality. Like metal, there are also various genres and types of punk such as crust punk, gutter punk, street punk, SKA punk, Oi’ punk and arch-o punk. They all have different political followings and views.

My favorite punk bands include “Dead Kennedy’s”, “The Germs”, “Plastmatics”, “Necrophaghist” and “Metallica”. All the music I love I can identify with as a human. My music keeps me functioning and brings positive vibes. Music can do that for anyone with a passion.
