After the Ball

Randall High held its 29th annual Silver Ball this past Saturday, and as always, it was an experience that I will not forget. Silver Ball is a night where you get to dance your worries away with your date or your friends and just let loose for a little bit. It’s always fun to see your classmates in their finest attire, busting a move on the dance floor.

The night began with a ceremony honoring students in every grade. Just in case you missed it, I’ll recap the winners of the most prestigious awards of the night. To begin, the winners of the honorable Junior Who’s Who award included Sydney Backus, Collin Blackwell, Emily Boschen, Marcos Bribiesca, Daniel Clenney, James Dewey, Taryn Dia, Allsion Jenkins, Jayna Leuders, Ashley McEvers, Leslie O’meire, Joseph Phelan, Madalynn Reid, Jaycie Sutterfield, Kami Velarde, and Koby Wood. The Raider Queen nominees were Kaycee Cross, Jordan Kemp, and Brooke Pohlmeir and the Raider King nominees were Mason DeWitt, Ernesto Sanchez, and Josh Williams. Senior Brooke Pohlmeir won the Raider Queen title while senior Mason DeWitt won the Raider King title.

When the ceremony was over, everyone hit the dance floor. Some of the favorite songs of the night were Don’t Stop Believing, Como La Flor, and Billie Jean. As always, there were some fun group dances like Cupid Shuffle, Wobble, and Apache (Jump on It). Overall, I would rate the music a 5, the atmosphere a 7, and overall experience a 7. If you didn’t go to Silver Ball this year, I encourage you to go next year, because it’s a fun night of getting all dressed up and having a ball with your friends!
