All You Need is Love
The winter months can be sort of a dry spell when it comes to holidays; however, there is one holiday in February that many people across America celebrate in different ways. This holiday, Valentine’s Day, celebrated by couples who want to show their appreciation for one another.
Valentine’s Day originated in Ancient Rome when Saint Valentine was imprisoned illegally married Christian couples who were being persecuted by Claudius Gothicus. Ever since, people have recognized St. Valentine’s Day as a day for loved ones.
Some things that people do on Valentine’s Day is go to a nice restaurant, exchange gifts, or go see a romantic movie. If you want to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day, I suggest doing so in advance since restaurants tend to fill up quickly. Some good local places are Public House, BL Bistro, Napoli’s, and Macaroni Jones. If you’re looking for something a little smaller, Bangkok-Tokyo has fantastic Asian cuisine and a cozy atmosphere.
Some good gift ideas are chocolate, stuffed animals, or if you’re on a budget, a simple heartfelt card is sure to put a smile on your significant other’s face. You can even show your devotion in the school hallways by purchasing a Valengram, a rose, or a corsage for a small price.
Whether you’re out on a glamorous date with your loved one or cozying up on the couch alone with some popcorn and Netflix, be sure to make the most out of your February 14th.
